Comic Taste Figure Doraemon: Don't Worry, Doraemon

"Doreamon" is so famous that you'd be hard pressed to find a single Japanese person who hasn't heard of it.  It's the story of a clumsy kid named Nobita who fails at pretty much everything he tries to do and Doraemon, the cat-robot from the future who helps him out with an amazing assortment of handy tools.

This diorama shows Nobita reminiscing about Doraemon after he had returned to the future.(Sagaracci)

I'm not sure if I've ever heard of anything more Japanese. Even Zone of the Enders.

Is that young man looking at a drawer? As a toy, or even a shelf-bound, display-only diorama, I find the design of this thing really odd, but it's so visually appealing that I suppose it works.

I don't know a thing about Doraemon, but that album's a killer.

Doraemon is huge everywhere in Asia and even some other parts of the world, yet is still relatively unheard of in large parts of the Western world. I loved it when I was in Japan (even though I couldn't understand any of it other than the translated commentary of the helpful Japanese!), I wish Viz Media would at least release the manga in English....
