Getter Robo

This is a figure from the Japanese robot animation series "Getter Robo".
Lots of Japanese robot animation series actually start as comic books.
For example, the Masked Rider series, which we talked about on Monday, actually started as a manga by a famous artist, Mr. Shotaro Ishinomori.
"Getter Robo" is an anime series that debuted in 1974, based on a manga written by Mr. Go Nagai and Mr. Ken Ishikawa.
This figure recreates a scene from the manga version of "Getter Robo".
It's a powerful scene, in which Getter Robo removes his own heart.
My love for the manga works of Mr. Nagai and Mr. Ishikawa is, in fact, quite extreme.

On Fridays, we'll introduce various miscellaneous figures.
Right then, I'll see you next week!

Nice one Suda51. That's coming from an avid Gundam builder himself. Keep up the blogging.

Do you or the Grasshopper animators ever create physical models of your game characters for use as reference?

Actually, now that I think about it... http://www.brokenfrontier.com/img/2006/jan/k7_paints_all02.jpg
