Info on how to get into the games industry!

How would some one like myself i guess. Get or try to somehow get into the games industry without anything behind me, apart from growing up through life on Games. living my life more or less round games at the time of school & college, & not just 1 game or console basically all of them trying to find out what each console & game has to offer for enjoyment & pleasure which each play.

Mainly im tryna ask do they even offer things for people that haven't got the skills behind them.

Like skills/training while u work? or an apprenticeship, or do they consider this to be a waste of time?
