The last generation of hardware began in October 2000 with the introduction of the Sony PlayStation 2, and continued in 2001 with the launches of the Nintendo GameCube and the Microsoft Xbox. Then in 2003 and 2004 the review scores for those platforms peaked.
Now this generation began in November 2005 with the Microsoft Xbox 360 and continued with the 2006 launches of the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. If history is a guide, then their review scores will peak in 2008 and 2009.
