Naysayers be damned, it's a great idea executed brilliantly. I just had multiple nerdgasms browsing the full gallery. Kudos Edge!

must...buy...186-188 (the halo ones)

You know you can find out what is on the copy your gonna buy if you look at the back of the magazine foil cover, and in the bottom left corner it tells you, It did on the one I was looking at, turns out it was an okami one

guys, we've been foiled over by edge...in the literal sense. the covers have got a foiled covers on the front so you dont know what cover your getting! unless you decided to open the plastic covers which I dont know how the newsagent staff will feel...

to view all the covers on one web page rather than one at a time with the viewer here.
Note - it's 26.5MB of images so might take a while to load for some people.

I think all of them are brilliant! Well done to Edge.

I think it's a good idea, I'm looking forward to my LBP cover!

'Empire' magazine did this (but with more class) last year and I thought that was a waste of time.

I'm dissapointed that this is the banner item for your 200th issue.

By it's very nature, 200 covers means alot of cookie-cutter generic deisgn and art - I've seen that Hitman promo art and that Solid Snake MGS2 art a thousand times - something Edge is famous for not having on it's covers.

It means alot to me, and alot of others, that Edge has such fantastic cover design every month, so this is pretty unsavoury.

As a subscriber, I'll be getting the only one that isn't cut out of that mould, but even then it's a rather boring cover featuring a game that most of us have had our fill of not so long ago. It also means it doesn't matter one bit how many covers there are to me now, since I have absolutely no choice in which I'll get.

I much prefered your 10th anniversary covers, which were far more distinctive since you had more time to to develop each one.

I'm sure the features will be great as always, but as a 200th issue cover idea it's a real damp squib.

Have the entire edge collection, all issues.for me?Covers are NOT the key point, good tho.as they are.If there is little or nothing of intrest inside the magazine?(NEVER buy edge for the reviews,They seem so poorly written, but that`s another story)then what does it matter what the cover is?just seems like Another case of guess EBAY soon to be flooded by sellers, people paying silly money to get cover they want etc.

I really really want to get the Gum one the most (Jet Set Radio)

Would also love to get the Vib Ribbon one, Grim Fandango, Shenmue 2, Another World, Parappa the Rapper, Q*Bert, Killer 7, Katamari, Tron, Wario, Super Mario Land, Left for Dead, Rez, Team Fortress 2, plus many many more.

Although I'm afraid my tiny Whsmiths will only get a couple in :(

I think you should release an Edge File with all these covers in it, I would buy it!

Highway Encounter & Nodes of Yesod for the sheer "OMG I'm old" factor but my favourite has to be Battlezone. Simple & beautiful.

The Contra 3 cover is definitely my favourite; It's such an iconic moment.

Other favourites include Viewtiful Joe, Star Fox, Killer 7, Jet Grind Radio, Mario Kart, Resident Evil 4/ Resident Evil Enemy compilation, and the Zelda compilation. I like the Shenmue cover, but it just looks barren with the empty street, like something is missing in the composition. I think joy on her bike would be a nice addition.

I'm disappointed in the Super Castlevania cover. It would look a lot better if the background was left in from the intro scene.

I'd sign for having those two hundred as the covers for issues 201-400.
Shenmue 2 cover is obviously a personal favourite, but I am quite looking forward to rooting around for the Ikaruga, Pilotwings64, Skate or Die, Okami ones... The GoldenEye one is quite brilliant as well, haha.

Actually not that keen about the subscribers' cover, though I can appreciate the initiative.

Oh nice one. C&VG watermarks splashed across all of those pics.....

Anyway, Rez, Shenmue of Streets Of Rage cover for me but as my newsagent reserves me the only copy he gets I'll probably end up with a crappy Hitman one or something equally forgettable.
