Edge Refreshed

You may well have noticed a few changes around here today. Here's what's going on.

You may well have noticed a few changes around here today. This refresh is just part of our ongoing plan to develop Edge's presence on the web, and we thought we'd start with its appearance.

Regular visitors will notice few changes to the functionality and content of the site. You'll see that we've merged new features and news stories into a single feed on our front page and promoted our Twitter account so it appears on every page. We've also added a list of our latest game reviews and, following popular demand, a list of the latest community blogs, too.

We're hoping you think this website looks a lot brighter than it used to, and is better at serving you Edge's blend of videogame news, insight and opinion. With this refresh simply being a staging post in its continuing development, we'd really like to hear your thoughts and ideas for further improvements. Is there anything you hate about the refresh? What would you like added? We already have big plans for a more extensive redesign in the near future, so we can't guarantee we'll be able to incorporate everything, but we're keen to understand what you want from Edge on the web. Please do discuss in the comments below, or email me at alex.wiltshire@futurenet.com.

And that's not all! We recently hit 10,000 followers to our Twitter feed. If you've an account and you don't follow us already, take a look at www.twitter.com/edgeonline - it contains news headlines and links as well as the odd bit of chatter.

To mark the redesign, we've compiled a list of the Twitter accounts of videogames' most significant makers and shakers – view and follow it right here. Consider it a live expression of the moment-to-moment thoughts of the people behind the most vibrant cultural form in the world. Or what they had for lunch, at least. And hey, if you're a bigshot in games and we've missed you off the list, let us know and we'll add you.

For all readers, past and present, we really appreciate your involvement and attention. But stay tuned – this is just a first step to evolving everything Edge is online.
