We asked for your nominations for the people you felt had made a difference in the past year. After sifting through hundreds of emails, this is our final pick for the top 25. It was a tough job picking just 25 people, bur we’re sure you’ll agree that every one of these folks deserves a big hand for their work this year.
This list is not a ranking of the best, most powerful, most talented, most amazing people in the industry. It is a ranking of the people who we at Next-Gen feel have made positive, significant and noteworthy contributions to gaming and the game industry through 2006.
All of the people on this list were nominated by game industry professionals. The ranking and final list is entirely Next Generation’s. There was no vote or poll.
We have restricted the list to only two entries per company and to people who work wholly in the game industry. Where possible, we have made mention of colleagues who we felt might otherwise have made a list, even one as short as this. We also acknowledge that almost everyone on this list represents the hard work and talent of colleagues, bosses, subordinates, employees etc.
We have tried to represent as many aspects of the industry as possible including development, sales, marketing and retail.
