Me first though. My trusty rooted Hero is due for upgrade. I've no other reason to upgrade other than the lure of the new sparkly phones in my local fruity phone retailer is too tempting for my magpie like eyes. Despite being a major fan of HTC's products in the past, and thinking it would be an easy decision of 'I'll take the latest HTC please' I've since discovered it aint that simple.
My top choice is the Samsung Galaxy S2 - 1GHZ dual core, 8mp cam, awesome amoled screen.
However there is also the Motorola Atrix which is just as powerful but has a shitty camera. Or I can wait for EVAR for my network to release the HTC Sensation which has the latest Sense UI with 3d rotating home screens, same power processor and similar camera.
I'm awaiting a text to say the Galazy S2 is ready for dispatch and asking if I would like to proceed... however should I proceed? Any thoughts?
No, I won't consider Iphones or Windows Phones.

I just tried to install a new rom and now my phones stuck in a bootloop :(
Hopefully i can fix it.
Also I recently played with the sensation and the galaxy s II, didn't seem like there was much between them other then the ui so personal preference really.

As i thought re S2 v Sensation. As the S2 has 16gb on board storage its currently my fave.
S2 v Sensation is a tough choice, went with the S2 as comes out ahead on the main specs, but not by much at all.
Yeah, too true. I'm awaiting a text to say orange are sending mine out. However the DEXT has now peaked my interest. But the S2 is supposedly being given NFC on Orange (paying by swiping your phone!) which is uber cool but if I wait for that theres' another potential delay. It is shit.
There is allways something better just around the corner, you'll be waiting for ever.
I'm the owner of the HTC Desire, although tbh I don't really use much of its smartphone gadgets. Maps is useful, as well as some free Angry Birds, but thats about it. Anyone care to recommend some things I should really be mucking about with when owning an Android device?
OK, I'm a newly updated to a Galaxy S2 and I dont feel like I'm getting the full use out of it in any shape or form.
Here's what I'd like.
A media player that interacts with my Spotify account.
A spotify/media player that works on the lock screen.
An email client that looks and works better than the standard gmail app.
A good podcast aggregator.
Any recommendations?

This android malarkey is quite good on my tablet. My only gripe is that when I view this forum on my tablet the bloody connect with edge shit at the bottom of the screen floats over the top of any threads if I zoom in at all. even if I don't zoom in it takes up over half the screen which is really crap. Anyone know of any tablet browsers that stop this from happening or a way of getting rid of the shit thing at the bottom of the web page?

You could try Skyfire. I have a feeling it's an android problem though, so changing the browser may not help.

Think maybe Android doesn't get along with Drupal or something like that. It's about the only website that gives me any problems.
That problem Jimmy describes happens identically on Windows Phone 7.5 (though annoyingly it didn't on WP7.0)
It's not a Drupal problem btw, it's just the community/connect module that causes problems.
It would be nice if they implemented a close box or minimise box to the crap at the bottom. I never look at it anyways, I wonder who actually finds it useful? well I say I never look at it, I can't not bloody look at it when I am on my mobile device :-(

Changing the orientation of my tablet usually sorts out the blue box problem for me.
I'm thinking of picking up a Galaxy 10 tab. Is it possible to put my 3g phone card in it if I want to go online occasionally when I'm out and about? Do I need to get the 3g model specifically or does that just mean that it comes with a sim card already? I'm certainly not going to pay for another data plan and will stick with wifi if necessary.
Actually, a little investigation shows that it may be possible to connect the tab to an Android phone via bluetooth and use the phone's 3g connection. That would be all kinds of awesome.
