You could do worse than watching any of those films/books. Not saying you have to or anything, but as far as big cultural icons that you haven't touched, there would be worse things to delve into.

You should probably see Citizen Kane and Godfather III. Although with the latter, keep in mind that Sofia Copolla is a disaster. Its worth it for Pacino's diabetes freakouts. And Fat Tony from the Simpsons makes an appearance.
