Searched for a relationship thread and was surprised to find we didn't have one.
After almost eleven years together, my girlfriend and I have parted ways. The parting was fairly mutual, but after such a long time together I can't help but be devastated.
We always lived fairly independent lives, but now she's gone I've never felt so lonely.

I'm recently out of a ten year relationship and without wishing to appear cliched, it really does get easier. Do the drinking to Tom Waits thing, (Warm Beer Cold Women is a fave) just don't start smoking.
In the year since we broke up, I've had a few casual things and one fairly serious relationship that lasted about six months, which deteriorated for the same reasons as my previous relationship. I was meant to meet the ex I was with for ten years for a drink today, but she bottled it.

As for the eleven years and not sure bit, it's weird; I think we took each other for granted, or at least I did.
It's only worth it if you keep drinking.
Did you feel you were sort of in a 'groove' as in the other person was around and you just sort of accepted that then got on with what you were doing?
