Quote: "Around June last year, we pushed ourselves as hard as we could and made a playable slice of the game, and demonstrated it publicly at the World Of Love conference in London. The demo went well, but was heavily scripted. Internally we had come to realise that somewhere along the 6 years of part-time development, we had lost our way. We couldn’t even remember what sort of game it was supposed to be anymore. We’d ended up with a game that looked and sounded brilliant, classic Introversion with its blue wireframe and sinister faceless characters. But there was a massive gaping hole where you would normally see a “core game”. We’d tried and tried to fill that hole with ambitious tech and experimental systems, but you couldn’t escape it."
I am also rather impressed some of your K's went past the text border.
You should check out Monaco, it's a top down coop bank heist game that isn't out yet but looks promising.
The guy has done a few fancy things with it. I like how he hides the actual level data in the overview image of the level by using the unused bits and bytes.
Also, the Introversion guys released the world builder for Subversion in the Introversion Humble Bundle a while back. It looked pretty impressive. Hopefully they go back to it soon.
What was that game that EDGE and some of you lot where going on about, where it was like a tactical shooter thing?
Top down, you planned out your troops movements through a building, with line of sight and it was all symbols and shapes in a blue wireframe type setting?
i think it was some indie dev or something.
Gamertag: sgt pantyfire PSN: pantyfire Wii: What's yours?...Yeh thought so.
It was part of a humble bundle (which is where I got it). Not sure if that particular one is still available but worth a look (minimum payment is something like $5)
funny, I stopped playing at that point too. I think I was secretly hoping for some spy vs spy-esque hijinks (which may well be in there once you get past the tutorial.
This has inspired my to revisit later tonight.

If you mean that one it got canned for another project they're doing.
Fucking gutted I am about that.
Searching for "The Bank Heist Game That Isnt Ruddy F-ing Payday: The Heist" on Google gave me this hit. Not sure it will help you, though.

Was just reading that. So it was all a lie? Heavily scripted.. well well well. We must settle for Payday must we? Must we? Please no. No?
Payday ain't THAT bad. It's good fun for at least a week. Needs some mods to turn it competitive.
It looks like a mod to begin with.
On a side note, Goldeneye on the Wii is pretty pretty good. Playing it right now. Oh yeah.

Its quite good until they throw the rocket launcher dudes into the mix then it got a bit silly.
Reminds a bit of Lazer Squad (yeh, yeh, xcom) on the old speccy 48.
