For Face.
So yeah, Rez 2. Tetsuya Mizuguchi has tired of sniffing cocaine off hookers, and has decided to make a new game. Given that his CV might as well just say "Everything I touch is gold", there should be fairly high hopes for this.
Kinetic and Move compatible, but also supports the pad, which is how everyone will actually play it.
Out very soon
Ubisoft will be opening a Child of Eden store in Soho if you want to enjoy the "Child of Eden experience".
Child of Eden Hands on Gamespot, with afwul presenters. Skip to 4.30 on the video for the start of it, or 4.48 to cut out some of their shite.
Trailer, for your viewing pleasure
Edge review is in, and it scored an [8]. Yet to get the mag, so I don't know why, beyond general awesomeness.

Pad for me, and I'll be all over this like mods on an erotic fiction thread.

KINECT BABY. I'm looking forward to playing something a little different using Kinect, to be honest. The reports seem to say that Kinect really enhances the game so hopefully that rings true.

Depends what you mean Matty. They keep saying that it's different rather than better.
True true. I'll try it both ways, so to speak. But I think it's important to support games like this on Kinect to encourage diversity.

It's worth trying both ways, if you have the luxury. There's a review in our next issue.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys made of it. There isn't really anything else I'm interested in at the moment.

I predict an [8]
Probably spot on there Dante. L.A. Noire was an [8] and I'm happy with that, so an Edge [8] is good with me.

This is the game I'm most looking forward to this year.
I'll try it with Kinect but will mostly be playing with the pad, for practicality and convenience as much as anything.
Does look exceedingly good.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays with Move later in the year, too.
So many control schemes, so little time.
Would you do a Kinect/Move face off?

Craig David lives!
Hi Matty - a face-off might be a bit fanboy-baiting, but we'll try and work out a way to discuss the Move controls - if they feel significantly different - when the time comes.
Fair enough, don't want to upset the fanboys, they already accuse you of bias one way or the other!

Rez remains one of my favourite games for a quick blast. I don't think Move or Kinect will significantly improve the Child of Eden experience - honestly, I can't see myself using either - but it will definitely be interesting to see how well they are implemented.
I'm looking forward to this.
Craig - rather than a 'face off' as such, perhaps it would make a good article on how motion control can be incoprorated into 'core' game experiances?
Hey Bulletwave - I felt similarly to you and am also a huge Rez fan, but after trying COE with Kinect I was very pleasantly surprised. Motion control really does add to the experience.

It's a pity my brothers Kinect is in a converted loft room. He's about half a foot shorter than me. Every time I play Kinect, I get head injuries...
Anyway, I'll be all over this, with the pad. Then have the odd shot on Kinect, as a wee treat.
Any deets on a Limited/Collector's Edition? Please?
@Ben - Really? That's reassuring.
I dare say I'll give it a try at some stage. Draw the curtains, turn up the bass... Hypnotrance Shooter 2011 is gogogo.
I expect this to be one of those 'diffining moments' for next-gen motion controllers. The abstraction between what, you are doing and whats happening in the game world is certainly a great deal more interesting than any of the other motion/rhythm control titles that I'm aware of.
And let's not forget it supports four controllers so you can rig your own custom bodysuit. If you have the time. And resources.
David's looks pretty dapper.

Despite him hacking into a sports crotch protector, I imagine its quite aesthetic and fit for purpose. (o;
Seriously, you could probably teach someone visually impaired how to play the game using the 4 controller setup + kinect. It is all very interesting.
@ Edge people; will the review be going up on the website, too? The magazine is rather hard to come by around these parts.
This is the Edge forum. Of course we have the time.
Yoss, if it's not, I'll transcribe for you.
To steal from DS; *wub*
New vid up on the XBLM. Oh fuck.
Can I watch this one? The last CoE trailer I downloaded turned out to be a Kinect one thus refused to play without Kinect. Brilliant stuff.
Is it available on teh internets for people who don't have either a Kinect or an XBox?
