No amount of 'high quality pvc dragons' are going to distract from the fact that Bethesda (as a publisher) are letting an alarmingly large amount of shit through the net for general consumption. New Vegas, Brink and now Rage were all on Beth's watch. And they've all had horrendous problems at launch. It really is seriously mitigating my anticipation for Skyrim now....
I'm getting the Collector's Edition, but to be honest I too could quite happily do without the dragon. Give me the soundtrack and few in-game goodies instead and I'd have been much happier.
I'm in, but not day one, far too much coming out over the next few months. Probably a new year purchase for me.
Enjoyed Oblivion (the only Elder Scrolls Game I've played) particually the theif guild quests.
Horse Armor FTW

Whilst I agree (not sure what problems Rage is having?) New Vegas was one of my fav games last year. I enjoyed the whole atmosphere much more than Fallout 3. I must say I didn't get it day one though so I only ever played the patched version.
I did a massive and incredibly geeky post on the old forum about basing my player around one of the characters from Game of Thrones. The excitement is obviously getting to me.

You know The last game Bethesda made were Fallout 3, right. The others were just published by Bethesda gamestudios.

During my week in the sun, I read the excellent Game of Thrones. At some point I made the decision that for my first Skyrim playthrough I'm not going to go for my usual sneaky elf archer, but try to base my fella on one of the characters from this wonderful book.
First I was going to go for Ned Stark, carrying Ice on his back of course. Then I fancied King Robert, with his huge hammer. Renly, Jaime, Ser Loras, Gregor Clegane even the mountain barbarians were given consideration.
In the end all the talk of dragons has made me want to go with a Targaryen, but which one? Viserys is out, obviously, but I'm torn between Rhaegar and Daenerys, who would be my first ever female charachter.
I was already twitching with anticipation of Skyrim coming out, but reading Game of Thrones has made me lose the plot entirely. I can not fucking wait for this to come out.
That is incredibly geeky but you won't be getting any criticism from me. I'm taking a week off work and hanging a big ass Do Not Disturb sign on the door for this game. I will also be pulling a few coffee-powered all night seshes.

Yeah, here it is again in bold in case you missed it like.
I always use to scoff at people who said they had problems running Oblivion & Fallout 3. Never had any issues with 'em. But I've since learnt to appreciate the fact that just because you ain't personally experiencing issues, that don't mean they're not widespread and systemic. Twice now I've had major problems trying to play Bethesda published products after a Day 1 purchase. As much as I adore the TES series, its clear that Bethesda, as a publisher, now set the bar very low when it comes to sanctioning games for gold release. And as such I won't be rushing to the store as an earlier adopter. 'Wait and see' seems a much more sensible approach when it comes to Skyrim.
I really hope Skyrim isn't buggy on release. Normally I'm happy to wait and see, but I got given a pre-order for this as a bonus at work and I'm not going to be able to resist playing it if it's sitting there tempting me.

You and me both. First week of Oct already gone, t'will be here before you know it. Can't wait. Good latter half for RPG lovers this year. Both Dark Souls and this are right treats.
Am with Blocks but if Dark Souls hadn't just been released I'd have been tempted. However as disappointed with F3, and whilst I love The Elder Scrolls, a goty edition temps me more, not gonna miss any online (am I?)

skyrim is sp only.
(if thats what you mean?)
[Raiziel once typed.] davie's such a lovely guy. He's too nice for this forum.
The map was apparently leaked on a Russian site, according to Kotaku. Cannot wait for this game. It's the only one I've really looked forward to this year.
I love these plain maps – you just know that there's so much stuff in there that they're not showing you. That mountain in the middle looks like it could be humongous...

I am in.
Saw but did not touch Skyrim at Eurogamer and it looked pretty special.
I just wish they'd have some kind of almost limited edition without that big statue. £130 is ridiculous
i am in .......
also have the same feelings as shinji towards the limited edition....that art book looks great..
Had a standard pre-order in since way back when. Should at least save some cash in the xmas party season....

I want quotes in quotes fixing.

A mass of relatively up to date info can be found here in the second and third posts.
Scanned over that and spotted this:
There are over 50 beards to apply to your character.
That should be on the front of the box, frankly.
The Collector's Edition should actually come with a beard.
Same sex marriages? Just what I've always wanted in an Elder Scrolls game.
Here's the world map with the place names in English.

Has High Rock been done yet?
If the northern part of Cyrodil was covered in snow, I wonder which parts of Skyrim don't have any?
'Infinite Dragons', with accompanying firery breath, ensures that all in-game snow will melt after approximately 4 hours of play.
I'm still massively looking forward to this, but to be fair, Dark Souls has really impressed me. This, however, will be a different beast entirely.
HERE BE DWAGONS!
ONE MONTH TO GO!!!
Does anyone know the best place for preorder bonuses?
Haven't seen any at all – shops will probably just do trade-in special deals.
Sold
I wonder how many of my historic looks i can recreate
Let's hope they don't look like they're carved out of wood.
Yeah, this is not the sort of game to offer +5 swords from the very off. Gotta wait for the post-release DLC for that....
