After finishing Final Fantasy IV this morning and, having enjoyed it so much, I thought I'd try and pick up where I left off with Final Fantasy VII. But it's just not happening. For some reason I'm just not enjoying it. I've given it a fair crack of the whip but, after twenty hours of waiting for the game to click, it's time to throw in the towel. Definitely moving on to Chrono Trigger now.
What have you just given up on?

Buying cheap games that I know I'll never see through.
I have too many given-up-ons to list. I blame Steam sales.
I am upset.
LA Noire. It became so repetetive.
Got about 11 hours into Final Fantasy XIII but got completely flummoxed by one battle and took a break. That was 3 weeks ago and I doubt I'll return now but as I only paid 7 quid for it I feel I got my money's worth.
Gave up on Killzone 3 Singleplayer about the same time, still make the odd jaunt into MP but they're becoming rarer and rarer.
Recently bought Afrika as a curio. Not played it much but can see me dabbling in it occasionally and it's the type of game I like having on my shelf.
Ys Seven. Good game, but the boss battles are getting on my nerves. I just don't have the patience for them, and the bird boss is the last straw.
Persona 3 Portable, COME TO ME!
Dark Souls and Rage. Dark Souls was to much like hard work and Rage was just so unoriginal I couldn't bring myself to bother. Also, this forum on my HTC. Hopeless. Works perfect on my I pod.
Yo mate, it really isn't.

Did Dark Souls put you in a... Rage?
Tehehehe!
He's still got his CoD.
HARDCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE.

IIIIIIINSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!
Guns, drugs, hookers and no pants.
Xenoblade Chronicles.
It's obviously class, but it's not for me. I think if it was on 360 I would have more likely stuck with it. Wii graphics make my tonsils ache.
Is there a swap-shop here yet cause I think i'll put it up? Cant find one...
I hope you've not saying that having only used the composite cable that came with the thing.
No, I got all the proper stuff. Still looks very PS2 to me.
Time to put the old girl away for good methinks.
As far as Wii games go it's a looker. It's the character design that make me want to vomit.
Oh, that's fair enough then.
It wouldn't have been any wonder if you'd thought the graphics were shit using the composite cable!
I wanted to post this via my phone on Friday night but it kept giving me a 404 error.
Twilight Princess.
The Water Temple almost did it but it was the Ice Temple that made me chuck it in. What a shitty piece of design that is. Regernating enemies that are a hassle to take out with the unresponsive waggle and the awful wiimote aiming. All i want to do is fire off the hookshot before I get twatted but the pointer isn't on screen is it.
The one thing I did enjoy about the game was that the npc's were moved about regularly and they often had something new to say. It made the game appear to have more of a soul than its immediate predecessors. Otherwise bollocks. Give me back my 36 hours.

Play it with a gamcube pad...much better. I'm hoping Skyward won't need me to dust it off again.

It's the Wii version though. I think i need a break from Zelda. Same old tired place names and scenario's. I thought the whole point of Skyward Sword was the 1:1 Wiimote/sword interaction. I think I hate Twilight Princess as much as Fable 3.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon - 360
Played this in one sitting on Xmas Eve, rather enjoyed it... until the very final mission. Spent almost 2 hours trying to beat the final mission, eventually gave up at around 3am (Xmas Day!). Couldn't beat the bastard, fucking frustrating. Rest of the game was really easy (on normal difficulty setting).
Apart from that last fight that I couldn't do, it was quite enjoyable, if a bit repetitive.

The World Ends With You. For about the 10th time.
I try and enjoy this game, and just as i'm getting to the cusp of it i'm brought down low by my inability to multitask playing on two screens at once.
Batman: Arkham City.
I have played for a few hours and I'm simply bored. What is strange is that I loved the first game but just can't get to grips with this. I find it all a little overwhelming and the combat is so damn repetitive.
I preferred the more restricted feel of Batman: Arkham Asylum. This sequel just doesn't feel right.
I'll probably go back to it at some point but right now I'm piss bored with it.
Hello, Namco.

You and I are the same on this game. Completely agree, and I ADORED Arkham Asylum. Up there in my top games of 09. But I did finish it. I'd finish it as it's very very short if you just critical path it.
Yeah Arkham Asylum was fantastic, I also finished it :)
I will go back to Batman: AC when I'm bored of BF3, Skyrim and Lovefilm have also sent me F1 2011 today which I'm looking forward to starting a Co-Op Career on. I just haven't got any interest in Bats at the moment.
I've given up on the Yakuza series. I got Dead Souls on release day from Love Film and just cannot summon the motivation to play it. I've cleared the first chapter and the charm that gives the clunkiness a pass has worn off. Seriously, after this and Binary Domain Nagoshi and co need to go learn games.

I've given up on several games that I've not even unwrapped yet!
Yakuza 4, Dead Space 2 and Bulletstorm are the ones that spring to mind. I've also given up on Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3's campaign, and there I was thinking I'd never touch the multiplayer, but hopefully these two are just a temporary blip!
PTFO
Moto 70
I'm not sure Yakuza and gunplay mix. Still, I might get on Dead Souls when I'm done with 2,3 and 4.
If it's to continue and I hope it does, the whole thing needs a total rethink. Maybe Anarchy Reigns might be an influence when it comes out.

I have Yakuza 3 and 4 still in their wrapping. I'd like a HD bundle of the first two so I can play those first, though.
