RAM: 128 MB (http://www.ifixit.com/blog/blog/2011/03/28/nintendo-3ds-has-128mb-ram) (source) (Coupled with the stolen unit, it looks like 96MB is for games, with 32MB reserved for the OS). DSi had 16MB.
Screens
-Resolution (top screen, 3D) 800x240 (400x240 per eye/2D mode), bottom screen (320x240). (DSi screens 256x192)
The level of 3D can be adjusted using a slider (all the way to off/regular 2D screen)
-Battery
1300 mAh (DSi 840 mAh, although the DSlite has a 1000 mAh battery).
Plus it has a 802.11b/g connection, 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope and microphone.
The OS (or dashboard or whatever) can be brought up in game in order to check notifications, or launch a web browser. Includes a notepad app too.
Includes 3 cameras. 2 on the outside for taking 3D pictures (and for use with the AR cards) and one camera on the inside of the unit.
Additional details include a Gameboy & Gameboy Colour VC service (possibly even GB Advance games), can play 3D movies (deal is already in place with Warner Bros, Disney & DreamWorks).
Backwards compatible with all DS games and same region DSi games. It'll be possible to transfer over DSi software too.
Launch colours will be blue and black in all regions.

Misc/Extras
Online: One friend code per system. No more game specific codes. Friend lists (limit is around 100, nothing definite) and if a friend comes online an orange light lights up on the system to notify you. Further, codes have to be exchanged by both players manually. Codes can be exchanged over local wireless without any need to input it manually if both players are in the same room.
Battery has been confirmed as 3-5 hours of play, with 8 hours for regular DS games.

Have you guys played with The AR cards all that much? I find it a tad fiddly... Think they'll do anything else with it in the future? Like downloadable content etc... ?
I'm not that excited by AR. Or by what I've seen so far. It's maybe unlockable, but I'd like to leave the camera pointed at a card and just have the characters mucking about, The games are pretty shit, tbh.

Nice one Shyam for carrying over the old thread OP. I think ive added everyone on here, apologies if ive missed anyone, have hardly touched mine and had little reason to go online yet, hopefully that will change when Nintendo finally release the big update. We need some form of inbuilt system chat software and game invites for online to really work, here's hoping nintendo get this out and working correctly before E3.
This is the one year I'm actually expecting big things from Nintendo's E3 showing.

Are people having much luck with Street Pass out in the wild?
Working on the same floor as a half-dozen game magazines means we get plenty of hits daily, but I'd be interested to know how successful it is in the wider world.
Not many no. If I want a few I have to be willing to travel into the centre of london, my local high streets and shopping centres are pretty sparse for streetpass hits.
I hope this is something that'll change come E3

@ aduk, yeah I actually thought the AR cards would be the most exciting thing about it? Just don't think it's really all that impressive, the way it judders and stuff.... I also don't like the way it so easilly looses the vision if you move a fraction of a inch away from it?

I've met around 25 Miis, mostly on the journey from Epping to London bridge, and also I fly a lot so collect a lot of Miis while walking through airport terminals.
I've been through the list and added everyone I was missing. I've still some grey silhouettes though :(
Just a couple of quick questions...
When you ar playing online on the 3DS (say on SF4), how do you ask someone on you friends list to join you in a game? Also, can you send an invite to someone else online (say playing something else) to ask them to join you for a game?
Also, how do I go about adding my 3DS friend code (in my posts above) to the overall list at the top?

@Wookienopants: nor me in Epping, must be when I hit central london as well. What is your Mii character's name? I'll check to see if you have come to visit. My Mii is called 'bordude' and has square blue glasses and blond spiky hair.

I've got about 141 in my plaza and a total of 175 hits. I was going into GAME on oxford st till they shut the demo pods, now i go to 5th floor of john lewis to level up the mii's for the qwest (on the third time through for just fun).
I posted in the other forum loads of ways to get st pass hits.
Best way to get st pass hits;
1) Go to shops which have DS's in (make sure you turn on the wireless and st pass on)
2) Go to crowded areas, if you walk from marble arch down to oxford circus, down regent street and a quick walk around trocedero i guarantee you a couple.
3) Events - i went to comic con on sunday and they had loads of demo pods with OOT and Resi, lots of players around too, picked up 8 miis.
4) Local events: londonstreetpass on facebook or the london ds meet up in pubs or stations across london once a fortnight will give you 10+.
5) Riding the tube, i pick up one almost every day on the northern line coming into London Bridge or Old Street. Seems to be different ones each time too weirdly.
6) Your mates should have one, if they dont they're losers.
Finished everything last week so now waiting for the dlc desperately. Ill update you guys i've not updated yet probably on monday when i'm back to work on Monday. LIving with my fiancee now and she's got a dongle not wifi.

has anyone else got scratches on top screen appearing to be caused by the edge of bottom screen? i thought i had just greasy marks on screen till i tried to wipe off, i have to say at this point that i look after my 3ds!!! anyway at that point i realised it was scratches!!!!! ive looked on line and it seems hundreds or even thousands of people worldwide have them!!!.. whats going on Nintendo??? A design flaw??? so far i think no answer from Nintendo,, anyway has anyone else got the scraches????

I have noticed that the edge of the bottom screen has occasionally left marks on the top, but in most instance I have been able to give these a little wipe away. I'll have to check again when I go home today. Maybe it might be a good idea to place a cloth between the two to prevent this (similiar to the cloth that is between the 3DS when you first purchase it.
I have marks make from the bottom screen but they are invisible when it is turned on they are only visible on a black background.
I have marks on my 3ds from where i've been eating food, croissants and the 3ds do not work well together.
Which stop on the central line? i'd actually be up for testing that.
