FreeStyleGames are looking for programmers who have the skills and talent to create the code which will power our exciting and original games currently in development. We are creating great games on PS3, Wii and Xbox360 and we are looking for people who want to innovate and drive next-gen gaming to its full potential.

The role : Gameplay programmer 
 
We are seeking programmers who will be responsible for a variety of gameplay related programming tasks, using primarily C++ and possibly the use of high-level shading languages (HLSL & Cg) where graphics programming is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute towards a variety of different code systems, focusing primarily on gameplay code, game structure and game modes, and additionally, where appropriate, on gameplay related graphical effects, animation, lighting, physics, and audio.
The successful candidate will work with the lead gameplay programmer and the design team to implement and refine gameplay features, and work with additional members of the programming and art / animation / audio teams to ensure the design vision is fully realised.

Key requirements: 
 
  • Strong C++ skills are essential – a minimum of 2 years C++ experience.
  •  Strong skills in creating robust, efficient, well organised and well documented code.
  • Strong problem solving & debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to produce work to agreed deadlines
Additional beneficial skills:
 
  • Experience of console programming on any platform (PC, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, PS3, Xbox360, Wii)
  • Good maths skills
