Product Marketing Manager

A video game developer with a breakthrough 3D animation technology is in search of a Product Marketing Manager in order for them to expand into becoming a self-publishing business.  This well-funded technology start-up hired a video game & interactive media veteran to head up this exciting initiative, and the PMM is required to report directly to him in launching their sports titles.  This position will offer a broader scope of responsibilities than other PMM positions in larger publishers, and the excitement of building something from scratch!

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Avid gamer with a strong track record of creating AAA titles for an industry leader.
  • Successful experience with major games publisher.
  • In-depth knowledge and passion for the sports gaming market.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with persistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of cross-cultural dynamics.
  • Self-starter and quick learner with a dynamic ability to work effectively with remote teams.
  • Proficiency in 3D games and technology.
  • Experience with both Next Gen and PC development teams.
  • Community building and mobile experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides vision and expert insight into the sports genre for the US market to ensure development teams are on course to create high quality, AAA games.
  • Works with Business and Product Development teams to assist in setting product positioning, USPs, pricing, distribution and marketing strategy.
  • Leads US focus group and playability testing sessions with target market on a regular basis. Ensures test results are vetted and filtered back to the development team.
  • Liaison between development team, marketing and executive management to ensure consistent flow of communication.
  • Liaison with distribution channels and platform owners to ensure delivery dates and approvals are managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Expert voice with the US gaming press to ensure product messaging is on target and consistent with company strategy.
