Senior Level Designer (m/f)
Responsibilities
Conceptualize engaging and entertaining gameplay scenarios as well as cinematic set pieces for single player and multiplayer levels
Create level prototypes and final in-game levels using Unreal Editor and Unreal scripting system (Kismet)
Document new game levels
Collaborate with departmental leads and design team to develop core concepts and game content
Balance and adjust game-play experiences to ensure the product’s critical and commercial success
Meet deadlines and manage tasks effectively
Qualifications
3+ years of level design experience
Previous design experience on a shipped action game title
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of game design
Demonstrable success in creating compelling game play, scenarios, activities, and encounters
Ability to both conceptualize and implement game ideas using various tools and technology
Be able to quickly adapt to change, finding creative solutions and maintaining positive momentum in the face of adversity
Strong scripting skills
Basic drawing skills as well as some experience with 2D packages like Photoshop, Freehand, Visio etc.
Ability to take and apply direction and work well in a team environment
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Have a passion for playing and creating creative and quality videogames
Desirable Skills
Experiences with the Unreal Engine, 3DS Max and/or Maya are beneficial
Additional work experience and management skills suitable for a Lead Designer or Lead Level Designer position
A background in architecture is a plus
