VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCTIONActivision is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Production to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Production, the Vice President of Production will oversee development of a slate of related products from a business and publishing perspective. By partnering with internal and external studios, deliver great games that are positioned to sell and achieve financial and quality goals on time.
Position Responsibilities (annual percentage):- Provide management and leadership to production team while tracking game development across a slate of products (60%).
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to establish brand plans for long term growth and expansion of portfolio (15%).
- Evaluate research and sign external development teams for projects (10%).
- Coach and develop staff to ensure growth and expand the talent base (10%).
- Work with Head of Production and other production leaders to constantly evaluate and improve department performance (5%).
Position Duties:Provide management and leadership to production team while tracking game development across a slate of products.- Oversee 4-5 major games in production at one time. Lead through influence and look for partnership solutions to all problems.
- Work closely with peers in Marketing, Sales, QA, Development, Finance, Operations, first parties, Central Tech, Central Design and HR on the development and financial plans for the titles.
- Manage 2-3 Senior Producers/Executive Producers, 10-15 Producers, Associate Producers and Production Coordinators.
Partner with Marketing and Sales; establish brand plans for long term growth and expansion of portfolio.- On a weekly basis, work closely with Marketing team to create plans to expand our franchises, develop new ones and look for other outlets to exploit our titles.
Evaluate research and sign external development teams for projects.- Partner with VP of Developer Relations to visit, evaluate and sign external talent. Review developers for possible augmented project options in addition to full game development.
Manage, coach and develop staff to ensure growth and expand the talent base. - Provide strong and effective leadership by way of ongoing performance coaching and career development for team. Additionally, provide people management guidance to managers.
- Set clear goals for the team and hold employees accountable for deliverables. Continually recognize and reward employees for strong performance.
- Create a culture that provides continuous feedback, support and empowerment.
- Establish model behavior that supports Activision’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
Work with Head of Production and production leaders to constantly evaluate and improve department performance. - Participate in annual review of department’s overall performance. Evaluate current processes and identify areas that require improvement.
- Encourage feedback of department’s performance from team and other groups.
Principal Working Relationships:CTO, VP, Creative Affairs, Directors, Producers, Associate Producers, Quality Assurance/Customer Support, Sales and Marketing, International offices for product release coordination, Head of Studios.
Position Qualifications:- College degree from top-tier institution.
- Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience, with 4 years at the Executive Producer level.
- Must have worked on multi-platform next generation titles for a top 10 publisher.
- Must have experience managing, motivating, and leading creative and technical teams over long periods of time.
- Must have strong management skills and proven ability to manage budgets (P&Ls) and schedules for creative product.
- Avid game player and passionate about industry.
- Keen technical knowledge; will have a strong interest in new technologies and in the interactive entertainment industry.
