Hideo Kojima has been promoted to a new role within the Konami subsidiary group Kojima Productions.
From April 1, the MGS creator will be promoted to Managing Director Operating Officer and Studio Head of Kojima Productions.
Once a company vice president for Konami, in 2005 Kojima founded Kojima Productions, where his team would go on to develop a number of handheld Metal Gear titles as well as last year’s PS3-exclusive, Metal Gear Solid 4.
Kojima’s move in 2005 meant that he could once again focus on making games for Konami, as opposed to running the business. It remains unclear if Kojima’s new promotion will see him return to a more managerial role.
More than 20 years after the first Metal Gear hit the MSX, Kojima is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony in San Francisco.

YAY throwing more wood on the fire that is his ego!
Anyone needs a hiatus after thinking something up as complex as Metal Gear 4. Personally, I think his genius is peerless and his contribution to gaming is unparalleled and us mortals who can only "consume" the games that the geniuses "create" are not worthy to say they have egos.
