Nominations for the 2009 Nordic Game Awards have been announced, with both Mirror’s Edge and Age of Conan Hiborian Adventures leading the nominations in the same two categories.
EA DICE’s divisive Parkour-ish FPS is nominated for Artistic Achievement and Best Nordic Game, the same two categories that Funcom’s Age of Conan: Hiborian Adventures stands in.

Well, the games I've played of these I really liked. I actually thought Mirror's Edge was superb, though it seems to have obviously polarised opinion. Age Of Conan had a lot of good things going for it (a great introductory 20 levels, and some wonderful graphics), and Bionic Commando: Rearmed did about as much as you possibly could with its basic idea. Makes me want to check out the other games listed.
Having just completed Mirror's Edge, I can honestly say... meh.
I think they will hit what they were aiming for with a sequel.
Mirror's Edge a FPS?... IMO it was underrated because players think of it as a FPS instead of what it really is; a platform game : /.
Hmmm probably not entirely, dano. Id say it's a First-Person Parkour game.
On a (somewhat) related note: why is Max Payne 3 being done by Rockstar Vancouver instead of the (Finnish) Remedy?
I can't believe it..... there's no Abba game?
I'm from Sweden myself, yet as much as I try, I can't bring myself to call any of these games worthy a reward.
In a way it's positive that Mirror's Edge and AOC has shed some light over Scandinavia as a gaming industry region. But making shitty games won't lead much further than that. Mirror's Edge was innovative, allright, but that's about it. And Age of Conan was just full of bugs and very impersonal.
So far the only good games to come from here are some of the Battlefield games.
Budget isn't the problem. It's the fact that they seem to miss the obvious flaws in their games. Heck, any experienced gamer could probably come up with solutions to make Mirror's Edge more fun or Age of Conan more original.
