Social gaming firm 6waves Lolapps has laid off its entire interal development team, and will instead focus on thirdparty publishing.
The company confirmed to Gamasutra that the staff behind Ravenwood Fair – a social game on which Doom creator John Romero served as a consultant – and Ravenskye City were no longer with the company. The Raven franchise will be passed to an "external team," the company said.
Other divisions, including Escalation Studios and Smartron5, "will continue to operate and focus on mobile development, and China development respectively." Escalation is the developer of Yeti Town, for which 6waves is being sued by Triple Town studio Spry Fox for copyright infringement.
The company confirmed: "As a result, we have restructured the company to focus on key functions which include developer outreach, product advisory, user growth initiatives and our publishing platform."
