7-Eleven Enters Used Games Market
7-Eleven has announced plans to sell second hand games at more than 3,000 of its US convenience stores.
The new initiative, dubbed "great games below $20,” was announced in partnership with game-trading services provider Game Trading Technologies.
"What this means to consumers is that they will have many convenient locations, most open 24/7, to buy value-priced video games," said Todd Hays, president and CEO of GTT. "The program is available to all 7-Eleven US franchisees, and we hope to have most US stores on board by September."
"More than 60 per cent of US households now have at least one video game console, and consumers are searching for convenient ways to stretch their entertainment dollar in this challenging economy," said Michael Jester, 7-Eleven category manager for gaming and electronics.”
Best known for the Slurpee, 7-Eleven already sells a range of full-priced games at select locations.
