Square Enix Inc., the North American arm of the Japan-based firm, has hired on two new execs as the company adjusts to a more Westernized game world.

Ron Scott is now serving as SVP of sales and marketing, while David Hoffman has become director of business development.

According to Square Enix, the two "will be focusing on expanding Square Enix's presence in the North American market and developing new opportunities for continued growth."

Scott had served as EVP of worldwide publishing for Activision, and was most recently SVP of worldwide sales at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. He'll oversee day-to-day sales and marketing operations for Square Enix Inc.

Hoffman will focus on expanding North American development partnerships. He was formerly executive producer at Conspiracy Entertainment, and prior to that was a senior producer at THQ.

Scott and Hoffman officially joined Square Enix on June 11 and March 17 this year, respectively. The two will report to Square Enix Inc. president and CEO John Yamamoto.
