Amazon Servers Potentially Used In PSN Attack

The hackers responsible for the recent security breach of Sony's PlayStation Network may have used Amazon's cloud-based server service to stage the attack.

According to a Bloomberg source, Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service was not hacked itself, but instead used under a fake name. The offending account has now reportedly been shut down.

Amazon and Sony have declined to comment on the situation, while the FBI hasn't confirmed whether or not the site is now included in its investigations.

PlayStation Network services are now being restored across the globe following over three weeks of down time.
