Angry Birds Rio, the follow-up to the enormously successful smartphone title Angry Birds, has passed 10 million downloads within ten days of its release.
In a post on its Twitter feed, developer Rovio said: “10 in 10. Angry Birds Rio breaking all records. A massive thanks to all our fans!”
A 59p download from the iOS App Store, Angry Birds Rio is available to Android users for free through Amazon Appstore and Android Marketplace. The game is a tie-in with Rio, an animated movie starring Jesse Eisenberg.
The original Angry Birds, released late in 2009, recently passed 100 million downloads across the numerous formats for which it is available.
