The news arrives less than a week after Zavvi – the UK’s largest independent game, music and DVD retailer – announced it had shut down 22 stores across the UK. 74 outlets remain for the business, while the group’s administrators Ernst & Young continue to struggle selling the business as a going concern.
Facing closure this time around are key outlets in Glasgow, Watford and Belfast, along with the chain’s flagship store in London’s Piccadilly.
Zavvi went into administration on Christmas Eve last year. The retailer’s demise was largely a knock-on effect from the fall of Woolworths and its wholesale distributor EUK, as EUK was an important supplier for Zavvi.
The retailer's closure sale continues.
