Deal, to come to fruition later this year, marks end of O2’s two-year exclusivity and will double platform’s audience.
The news comes just three weeks after Orange proposed a merger with T-Mobile, which would make it the largest mobile network in the UK with 28 million subscribers compared to 02’s second position 22 million.
The deal, therefore, will mean that iPhone will be available to around 50 million customers in the UK, further expanding the platform's potential reach for App Store developers.
Though an availability date hasn’t yet been confirmed, Orange has already opened a website on which interested consumers can register for further news.
Macs do suck and iTunes is digital totalitarianism and must be destroyed, but the iPhone is absolutely awesome and there's really no reason to pretend otherwise.
I'm completely the opposite to you, mate (apart from the iTunes thing). I love my Macbook Pro but the iPhone is a pretty run-of-the-mill phone and is nothing special. Apart from the apps there isn't that much to recommend it. Lousy camera, crappy video capture and falls short in so many other areas. Phones from Nokia, Samsung and co really eat the iPhone for breakfast spec-wise.
Oh goody, yet more morons in the pub showing off their annoying "apps" self importantly... Charlie Brooker says it best -

His rant was dumb and I wouldn't exactly brag about claiming that his claim of "I'm a helpless, stupid, lazy sheep. I'm also a masochist." is better than being a mac fan.
But do go on and proudly be one of the retarded masses if tat's what floats your boat.
If you are familiar with Brookers writing you soon realise he is somewhat self destructive on a lot of topics. His article are very much opinion pieces. Personaly i like Brooker as he is human, he knows when he is right and wrong but will be damned if he is gonna change.
Im a massive Apple fan, and even worked for them recently, however i totally agree with him about Apple fans and how annoying they are, even if i can distinctly remember myself behaving in exactly the same way.
