Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has been granted an injunction until August 31 to block the importation and sale of the new PS3 mod PS Jailbreak.
The ruling by the nation’s Federal Court requires sellers of the device to give their existing stock to Sony’s solicitors until the deadline passes, Kotaku reports.
Between now and September 1 the platform holder will attempt to convince the court that the injunction should become a permanent one, making sales of the device illegal. If unsuccessful, PS Jailbreak will be available again from that date.
PSJailbreak is a USB dongle that contains software allowing users to copy PS3 games to the system’s hard drive and play the backed-up titles without the need for a disc.
