Limbo becomes the first downloadable title to be shortlisted for BAFTA’s public award.
UK retailer Game has announced the nominees for the BAFTA Game Award 2010.
It is the only one of the Game British Academy Video Game awards that is decided by a public vote rather than a panel of industry experts.
While Red Dead Redemption apparently hasn’t been nominated for any of the other awards – as we reported back in December – it does make the shortlist here. Playdead’s XBLA hit Limbo is the first download-only game to be nominated for the award.
Would-be voters are encouraged to click here to select their favourite from the following nominees:
Call Of Duty: Black Ops (Activision)
Dance Central (Microsoft)
FIFA 11 (EA)
Halo Reach (Microsoft)
Heavy Rain (SCEE)
Mass Effect 2 (EA)
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (EA)
Red Dead Redemption (Take-Two)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo)
Voting closes at 5pm on Monday 14th March. The awards ceremony takes place on March 16 at the London Hilton, hosted by comedy’s Dara O’Briain.
