A rep for D3 said Bandai Namco intends to buy all of D3, including its subsidiaries D3 Publisher of America and D3 Publisher of Europe.
D3 Publisher has released games including titles in the Ben 10 kids' franchise, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords and Dark Sector (pictured).
"D3 Publisher operations will remain unchanged at this time," the rep said. "Development of our current and unannounced titles is ongoing and will move forward as planned.
"D3 Publisher is thrilled to join forces with Bandai Namco Games to further strengthen their position in the U.S. and European marketplaces and continue to make quality games that gamers will enjoy."
A translation of the Bandai Namco press release stated that the company has already reached an agreement with D3 shareholders to acquire 70 percent of D3's shares at 62,000 yen per share.
One reason Bandai Namco is reportedly making the move is to better weather the economic environment by leveraging the strengths of a larger combined entity.
