Bethesda and Mojang set for Scrolls court fight

Bethesda Softworks and Mojang will settle their trademark dispute in court, Markus Persson, head of the Minecraft developer, has revealed.

The publisher first notified Mojang in August that its upcoming digital card game Scrolls was in breach of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls trademark, arguing that customers would confuse Mojang's Minecraft follow-up with the upcoming Skyrim.

Despite Persson's hope that the claim was "just lawyers being lawyers," it soon became clear that Bethesda was taking the matter seriously, and last month he declared: "If we're going to court, I will fight this for as long as it takes."
