BioShock Infinite has been delayed to February 2013, publisher Take-Two has confirmed.
Irrational Games slapped an October release date on its ambitious adventure in March, but in a brief press release its publisher reveals that the game has been delayed by four months. It will now release on February 26, 2013.
Creative director Ken Levine said: "When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we've uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.
"Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we've decided to move the game's release to February."
Bad news for gamers, of course, and it won't be great for Take-Two either. The two-month delay to Rockstar's Max Payne 3 hurt its finances and its share price, and the publisher will need a strong set of financial results later this month to put investors at ease.
