BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk has labelled Activision’s threat to stop supporting PlayStation 3 “silly.”

"I don't think it's really fair to poke fun at Sony," Zeschuk told CVG. "Certainly the Wii's been a massive success and Sony's probably not going as fast as they thought it would be but I think that they're starting to make the right moves and the software's coming along.”

Last month Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said that the publisher “might have to stop supporting Sony” because of expensive PS3 game development costs and a better investment return on Xbox 360 titles.

But Zeschuk thinks such a move would be unwise due to the strength of the PlayStation and Sony brands.

"I think it's silly to be saying you're not going to support Sony,” he said. “The brand itself is still huge and there are millions of [users] out there."

Sony CEO Howard Stinger recently brushed off Kotick’s comments, saying the executive likes to make “a lot of noise… He's putting pressure on me and I'm putting pressure on him. That's the nature of business."

Bah. Everyone knew it was an empty threat. It was just a scare tactic to instigate a price-drop.
