Black designer and Bodycount director Stuart Black forms new indie studio, Self
Creative director of Codemasters’ Bodycount and designer of Criterion’s Black Stuart Black has parted ways with publisher City Interactive in order to set up his own indie studio, Self.
Black departed City Interactive, where he was working on WWII FPS Enemy Front, a few months ago after creative differences led to friction.
“We can confirm that Stuart Black is no longer working with City Interactive on the Enemy Front project,” City Interactive’s NA VP of sales and marketing Marshall Zwicker told VG247.
“Based on on early builds of the game and various internal and external feedback that we received, we decided to take a different approach to the, gameplay, and the story and characters in the game than originally envisioned.
“We are now working with Mark Bristol [who's also working on Doom 4], a very experienced cinematic director from the US and together with him we have been implementing what we feel are some really compelling changes.”
