World of Warcraft house Blizzard Entertainment announced Wednesday a partnership with DIRECTV to bring the third BlizzCon gaming convention to pay-per-view TV customers.

This year's BlizzCon, taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on October 10 and 11, will highlight games including StarCraft 2, Diablo III and WoW: Wrath of the Lich King.

Blizzard promises a "minimum of eight hours of live HD coverage from the show floor" on each day of the conference.

DIRECTV  is also running a promotion beginning in August that will make the BlizzCon pay-per-view free to new subscribers.

The price for the TV event is to be announced.

Tickets will cost physical attendees $100, and will go on sale on August 11. Interested parties can purchase tickets at www.blizzcon.com.

“Meeting and interacting with our players at BlizzCon is always a great experience for us,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. “We’re also pleased to be working with DIRECTV this year to bring the show, for the first time, to those players who are unable to attend.”
