Electronic Arts tossed out initial details on Boom Blox Bash Party for Wii, the sequel to the 2008 physics-based collaboration with director Steven Spielberg.
Bash Party's most noteworthy upgrade over the original is the ability to create levels, share them online and rate other users' content within a Boom Blox community. Previously, sharing was limited to a player's friends roster. EA said the Create Mode lets players use the same tool set as the EA development team.
Aside from an infinite amount of possibilities for levels via download, the game will come with over 400 new levels. EA promises twice as many multiplayer challenges in the sequel, as well as new team-based challenges.
Other updates such as new "blox" shapes, character interactions and blox launching tools will be part of Bash Party, which is due in spring 2009.
The game is in development at EA Casual.
I agree that this is good news. I've been on the fence about buying the first one; so now I can just wait for this one since it looks like it may just have all of the features that kept me on the fence since they were missing from the first.
This will definitely be up on my watch list this year.

Good news! My girlfriend and I are still playing the original. Just shows that the Wii does have some good games.
