Earlier today Take-Two reported a loss of $137.9 million for its fiscal year ended October 31. The publisher said that Q4 sales were led by Borderlands, NBA 2K10, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony and Grand Theft Auto IV.
The company states that the Gearbox-developed first-person shooter Borderlands has “sold over two million units worldwide and has established itself as a key franchise for Take-Two. Take-Two also said that it has the long-term publishing rights to the brand.
Take-Two said that other highlights from its year include Rockstar winning Best Handheld Game (GTA: Chinatown Wars) and Best DLC (GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony) at the recent VGA awards, NBA 2K10 coming in as the best selling and top rated basketball game on 360 and PS3 according to The NPD and Metacritic, the internally owned and developed Carnival Games franchise selling over five million units worldwide on Wii and DS and 2K Games announcing Spec Ops: The Line for 2010.
