Bungie: New Halo 3 Campaign to Drop

A twelve hour countdown at Bungie’s official website has ended, revealing a mysterious minute-long trailer for an upcoming project related to Halo 3.

While the trailer itself provides few concrete details, the description of the trailer on Xbox Live Marketplace reads, "High action and deep mystery await players in this new Halo 3 campaign experience. Prepare to drop." Footage in the trailer show bombs and pods being dropped on a city believed to be New Mombasa, a recurring locale in the Halo series.

In April, rumors swirled that Bungie was working on a Halo spin-off title for Microsoft. According to these rumors, this product was to be a series prequel that told the story of early conflicts between the Covenant and the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Special Forces unit.

I am getting annoyed with the whole secrecy behind anything Halo crap, just announce your game already. Ok, so it takes place on Earth when the covenent arrive and you're an ODST trying to defend it before Master Chief arrives. We get it, now just announce the damn thing already.

Erm, I have a slight advantage there Bro, because I had a 360 before. MS just screwed me over with the rrod and with the customer service. Hadn't they make a crappy hardware I'd be their biggest fan today ;)

Back on topic, you're right it's ridiculous. I loved Halo on the PC but could't finish the fight on Halo 2 because I was so bored. I presume Halo 3 is way better than H2, still I'm amazed how far they try to push the hype with it. The "historical" (and pathetic) Halo3 adverts were so much better, tho.

Yeah, you mentioned your unfortunate event before. Understood.

I'm a huge Halo fan. But hate to say it, but as far as the campaign is concerned, Halo 1 is by far the best. Halo 2 multiplayer was pretty solid and campaign was ok. But no, Halo 3 is not way better than Halo 2, but some of the new features like the quasi map editor, online 4 player coop was awesome, but the best new feature I'd have to say is the saved film feature (it works for campaign and multiplayer) made Halo 3 definitely more interesting. Being able to save clips, take screenshots, upload the screenshots to bungie, save them to your computer, bring them to work, show friends, whatever its a feature every games hould have. Won't happen though. I played Halo 1 campaign to death, Halo 2 multiplayer to death, and Halo 3...well, maybe there has just been too many good games on the 360 and once I got my 40, I haven't really played it very much. Mass Effect, Bioshock, Guitar hero sorta took up a little too much of my time for prolonged Halo 3 action.

I finished the fight though...
