Nintendo has declined to comment on whether Yoshi’s Land, a Wii U game listed by two Canadian online retailers, is real.
AllGamesBeta spotted the two listings, on the Best Buy and Future Shop websites, both of which state a placeholder release date of December 31, 2013. If genuine, it would be Yoshi’s first solo outing since Artoon’s 2006 platformer Yoshi’s Island DS. Nintendo told us it “does not comment on rumour or speculation.”
“Take Yoshi on an epic adventure to remember inYoshiLand for Nintendo Wii U,” the product description reads. “Check out Yoshi as you’ve never seen him before: in glorious high definition. Enjoy dual-screen control thanks to the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad, while you’ll also be able to experience full integration with Nintendo’s MiiVerse service.”
Yoshi’s Land was one of a number of game titles found by NeoGaf user Trike, who stumbled across a debug menu in Miiverse social network shortly after the Wii U US launch ten days ago.
Yesterday a Canadian retailer outed the Wii Mini console, which Nintendo would later confirm as genuine. The system launches next month for $99, has no GameCube support or internet functionality, and will be exclusive to Canada.
