Capcom has lifted the lid on its top-secret project with the announcement of Lost Planet‭ ‬2.‭

Kenji Oguro‭ ‬has been confirmed as the game’s director while Jun Takeuchi ‭– the producer for Resident Evil 5 – ‬is understood to be the game’s producer.‭

Details of the game itself are scarce,‭ ‬with no information available on platforms or release dates,‭ ‬though the game is suspected to be multiformat, if not on launch day.‭ ‬What is known is that the title will be powered by the‭ ‬MT-FrameWork‭ ‬2.0,‭ ‬and that the title will place emphasis on co-op play.‭

“Lost Planet 2 has evolved in a new unique experience that allows players to control various groups of Snow Pirates giving them a variety of different perspectives throughout the journey," read a Microsoft press release. "The developers also felt it was important to listen to the fans and Capcom is proud to announce that a new type of co-op mode will be implemented into the game."

A teaser trailer for the game is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace and the Xbox website.

Looks like 'Co-op' is the new 'Descructible Cover'. Bah.

First game was pretty decent for a new franchise, but definitely left a lot of room for improvement in the controls department. Hopefully, the sequel will improve upon that (and the awful cutscenes).

Is it really one of the best 3rd person shooters ever made Kim? Or is it a high production value fairly standard 3rd person shooter with some nice visuals?

yay......I love bland 3rd person action with crippled controls. I hope they map the roll move to the analogue stick button again. That was great. I'm guessing in the sequel to get the player to run u will need to click the analogue stick in and out as fast as u can with 3 clicks per second for sprinting.
