With all the lumpen, gristly protagonists clogging up today's starring roles, it's heartening to see somebody trying something a little out of the ordinary.
Granted, Among The Sleep's lead might yet grow up to be one of those muscle-bound cliches, but in Norweigian developer Krillbite's firstperson horror, at least, the two-year-old makes for an extremely refreshing avatar.
After being put to bed one evening, you find your way out of the cot as mysterious events begin to take place. A shadowy figure passes behind the glass in a door, drawers and cupboards fling open of their own accord and darkness pervades everything.
As you can see from the gameplay video above, it's looking extremely creepy already, giving you the ability to hide behind the relatively oversized furniture that fills each room.
It's not yet clear how the game will play out beyond the formative steps shown in the video, but the developer's website promises a world set "in the borderland between dream and reality, surreal creatures and diverse environments will present you with both physical and mental obstacles that challenge your creativity."
