US-based social game company Zynga has called CityVille its biggest-ever launch. According to Inside Social Games 290,000 people played the game in its first 24 hours of launch.
TechCrunch notes that CityVille’s first-day user figures are double those of Zynga’s FrontierVille, which now has 6.5 million users per day.
CityVille’s early success can partly be attributed to the fact that it is Zynga’s first global launch. The game was launched simultaneously in multiple languages last month.
In the most recent Facebook game chart for November, which is typically a slow month for the platform, Zynga maintained the top six positions.
