The site offers classic PC titles including the original Fallout games, Earthworm Jim, Gothic and others for prices ranging from $6 to $10, all DRM free. GOG.com also features community components for its users.
"Our goal here is really just to build up the best collection of classic PC games and to build up a great community around that," CDProjekt rep Tom Ohle in an e-mail to Edge. "That’s our focus for now."
He said that GOG.com's users so far are a "good mix" of old-school PC fans and gamers who missed out on the games when they first arrived on the scene.
GOG.com's early access beta had "tens of thousands" of users participate, according to CD Projekt.
Publishers with games on GOG.com so far include Interplay and Codemasters, along with new additions Strategy First and Pluto 13.
The open beta will help expand the library to over 50 games "in the coming weeks."
