Codemasters’ Chief Operating Officer Tony Williams is no longer working for the UK publisher, Edge understands.
According to a source close to the matter, Williams left the company late last week, though Codemasters has made no announcement regarding this.
Williams was once the managing director at now-defunct Bam! Entertainment. He was announced as Codemasters’ COO back in May 2005 when the publisher appointed its current CEO, Rod Cousens.
Update: Codemasters has confirmed the departure of Williams, stating that he had "stepped down" from his role as part of a "phased departure". Codemasters added that Williams will still focus on special projects for the company.

Codemasters and their Starforce-infected games can disappear for all I care.
And they don't even allow distribution of their old crappy £1.99 range of 1980's 8-bit games - losers!
F*ck GRID, and DiRT for that matter, as long as they don't shit the bed before they release the F1 game! Otherwise the poor 360 will never see an F1 game.
Well, if they're in a financial bind, they're gonna have to cut some of the 350 people working on the multi-platform "Formula One 2009 / F1 - The Game".
That's what I'm worried about. Though the article doesn't imply financial trouble, I think people are jumping to conclusions. Sounds more like internal politics to me.
And, 350 people?! seriously? Or was that an exagerration?
SimRacingWorld.com article:
"Codemasters now have the rights to develop a series of Formula One games across multiple platforms and multiple years. "Formula One 2009 / F1 - The Game" is an un-official name for the first game in the series which will be released sometime during 2009. Following the acquisition of the Sega Racing Studio, there are now 350 people working on the Formula One project."
Jesus, 350 people is a lot. Though I suppose it is a massive (not to mention brutal) licence. I think Sony were glad to let it go.
I think SCEA Liverpool's F1 effort was decent enough and the PS3 doesn't really need another F1 game. I don't see what more Codemasters can add to the experience aside from new team rosters and probably the new Abu Dhabi track. Oh, and the Honda team pulled out.
Yeah the PS3 game was pretty good. But come on, racing is the Codies bread and butter. They know their shit. I'm sure the F1 game will be damn good as long as they don't dumb it down for the american audience to try and get them interested in F1.
The Codemasters logo is different in each photo. Just saying.
And is GRID 2 and DIRT 2 in any kind of danger, whatsoever?
"Multiple calls to Codemasters were left unanswered."
Sounds like the secretary has gone as well!
I hear theyre having serious financial problems
Where did you hear that??
