Electronic Arts has revealed that Command & Conquer 4 is currently in development at EA Los Angeles (EALA).

Set in 2062, after the events of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, it will see two opposing factions – the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod – battling to stop the “mysterious crystalline structure” Tiberium rendering the earth uninhabitable.

EALA says the PC-only title will build on the franchise’s core mechanics by introducing new class-based gameplay, mobile bases and persistent player progression throughout all game modes. Due for release next year, it will bring the Tiberium series to a close.

“Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with an amazing 15-year legacy. This game is designed to give fans all the answers they’ve been looking for,” said the game’s lead producer. Mike Glosecki.

“With its objective-based multiplayer mode, persistent player progression and all-in-one mobile base, players will experience Command & Conquer like never before.”

Probably be PC only at 1st-Then 360 version( and maybe PS3?) later.

Grew up loving Command and conquer and Red alert-Bought all the games, the exp. packs etc, But.....Having just completed Kane`s Wrath and playing through Red Alert 3......i finding:

A) i wish they`d updated C+C: Generals instead. and...

B)The games feel....Tired! -I`m using the SAME tactics on missions as i did on Emperor:Battle for Dune and red alert 2-Build a strong base with decent defense`s and good cash supply, build airfields and loads of bombers, sit back, amash large fleet, send `em off to destroy objective-Main body WILL take a hammering, but enough Will get through to see the job done-End of.

Pity pumpkin studios closed-as Warzone 2100 was a lot more to my liking.Only so much you can do with Campness and FHM girls etc. not even the mad, bulging eyed Brilliance that IS Tim curry can keep this series fresh.

So instead of fighting cheating enemies by exploiting the same "first turtle then rush" tactics over and over, we now get "persistent progression", i.e. "grind your level to win battles"?

I am not sure I really wanted those answers. Also what's up with all the buzzwords to hide behind?

Oh joy yet another C&C title. This series got old after Red Alert 1, imo.

Try a bit harder, EA

Incorporate USB mouse + keyboard functionality on PS3 = win. Otherwise, = RA3 = fail.
