"David Perry has helped shape the history of videogaming having worked on some of the industry's best selling titles over the past few decades," said GCDC project director Frank Sliwka.
Perry is best known for creating games such as Earthworm Jim and Enter the Matrix while at Shiny Entertainment, which has since been merged with another studio and renamed under parent Foundation 9.
Perry is now chief creative of Acclaim Games, which focuses on free-to-play MMOs.
Sliwka added that Perry's keynote is "definitely going to be one of the big highlights of this year's GCDC."
Perry will give his keynote on the second day of GCDC, which takes place August 18-20 in Leipzig.
