Ready at Dawn, creators of the well-received PSP games Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus, could be going back on their word, albeit to the benefit of PSP fans.

In March, God of War: Chains of Olympus director Ru Weerasuriya said, "our work on the PSP has come to an end." The developer would move on to Xbox 360 and PS3 development.

But after seeing its two aging PSP titles break the top five PSP games on Amazon.com last week (via trade site Gamasutra), the company posted on its website that it should "reconsider" its stance on PSP development.

"We seem to be pretty good [at making PSP games] :)" the website read.

Edge contacted Ready at Dawn CEO Didier Malenfant Monday evening and found that the statement was more than just a tongue-in-cheek, off-the-cuff remark.

"It's something we are definitely looking into," he said in a phone interview. "I think given how well the first two games have done, it's something we're looking into--let's put it that way."

Malenfant confirmed that Ready at Dawn is still at work on home console projects, but as for PSP, there's "nothing that has been announced as of now."
