Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack has said that the Too Human developer will continue making console games as long as they’re profitable, but thinks that cloud computing will "profoundly affect the games industry forever."

Speaking at GDC Europe, Dyack said he was a big believer in the technology behind the likes of OnLive and Gaikai and the potential of such services. "2009 may be the end of the golden era of videogames as the first cloud models for games are announced," he said, according to GameSpot.

Dyack said that such services will help to eliminate piracy and second-hand game sales and stated that cloud computing will become the dominant force within two decades. However, he noted that the developer isn’t ready to give up on making console games yet. "Silicon Knights will continue to do console games as long as they're profitable," he said.

I'm not sure it will be over that quickly. I think cloud services are a long way off being a big component in the games market. Lets see how it pans out eh

Like OnLive and Gaikai will really be viable services to play HD games in 2010, or even that they'll attract a substantial high number of subscribers.
