The long-awaited PC action-RPG Diablo III will be released on May 15, Blizzard Entertainment has announced.
The news means Diablo III will finally be in PC gamers' hands just under four years after it was first announced, in June 2008.
Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said: "After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we're now in the home stretch.
"We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15."
A console release has yet to be officially confirmed but appears to be on the cards – Blizzard has assembled a team, headed up by lead designer Josh Mosqueria.
